Mindcraft Minds
The group will run for 4 weeks beginning October 4, 2023. It is open to individuals ages 8-12 and will take place Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45.
Each week, in a comfortable and supportive setting, participants will explore a different topic related to regulation and/or social-emotional growth through activities. The sessions will also include thirty minutes of cooperative play and connection through Minecraft during which participants can further practice and explore the topic of the week.
While the group will follow an outline, specific activities and topics will be finalized once the group participants are registered to ensure the group is catered to the participants.
By using Minecraft, we can use an exciting activity of interest for many children to build and practice skills in real time. While the group will use Minecraft, it will take place in person which allows for face to face social connection as well. We also know gaming can bring with it difficulties for some and this provides a space to work through any challenges that may arise.
The cost to participate is $280. The group can be covered through insurance plans, NIHB, Autism Services Registry or Victim Services.
Past Groups & Programs
Summer Connection Pods
Groups for children offered in a supportive setting in which social-emotional skills can be explored and developed.
Each pod will be facilitated by two team members and include time for social connection and learning about topics related to emotional well-being (feelings, boundaries, stress responses). There is a limit of five children in the younger pod and six children in the older pod.
These groups will be facilitated using a group play therapy approach.
When: August 21-August 24 (four sessions)
4-6 year olds… 9:30 to 11:00
7-9 year olds… 1:30 to 3:30
Where: Practice office (& potentially) additional locations which will be shared after registration.
For Who: These groups are neurodiverse affirming. All children are welcome.
Investment: $90.00 per session or $350.00 for all four sessions. Sessions can be claimed by insurance plans that cover services offered by a registered social worker.

Social Connection Pod
This group is for teens who experience social anxiety and/or would like to connect with other teens in a comfortable and safe setting. Each session will begin with a time of learning and skill-building before taking part in a community activity within the Broadway area. Activities could include going for a walk, checking out a local attraction or partaking in an activity at a nearby park.
The pod will be limited to a maximum of 5 participants. The group is open to those ages 16-19 (if you are interested but are outside of this age range, please contact us to discuss whether the group may still be suitable).The cost for each session is $90.00 or $340.00 for all four weeks and can be claimed under health insurance plans that cover counselling provided by a social worker.

Play Therapy Pods
Group Play Therapy provides a small group setting for children to process, grow and learn alongside others. This allows opportunity for peer relationship building and collaborative problem-solving.
Each pod is limited to 3 individuals to ensure adequate attentiveness can be provided to each child. The cost for each pod is $300.00. A receipt will be provided for submission to health insurance plans.
The following pods are being offered in January:
Tuesday Pod (starting Jan.10 for 4 weeks): 4-6 year olds. 10:00-10:45
Thursday Pod (starting Jan.12 for 4 weeks): 7-9 year olds. 4:00-5:00
